This spring, the youth in programs at Cary Home for Children have been invited to participate in an annual garden project.
The Cary Homegrown project includes a fruit, vegetable, and herb kitchen garden. This year we are expanding the project to teach the youth participants about starting plants from seed, composting, container gardening, and soil and water conservation. Besides the kitchen garden, we are also planning to install several areas of native plantings on the property in partnership with Tippecanoe County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Wabash River Enhancement Corporation.
Jessie's Kids is currently accepting cash and in-kind donations for Cary Homegrown. Visit caryhomegrown.blogspot.com for a list of needed items. We will be updating this website regularly to share our progress with the community, so check back often.
